Next session

When: Nov, 22nd to 24th 2013

Where: Rameldin's Rasthaus

Who: Us as usual

****************************************************

Having barely escaped the onslaught in the palace, the company now finds itself flying together with Commander Sintar towards the shipyards. The stakes are high as the city beneath them is sinking into the chaos of a very badly planned revolution. Impulsive momentous decisions led them all there and it does not seem they're about to see the end of it.

Level 5 recommendations and congrats! You made it so far!

- At level 5 you are all expected to know your character and what he can do. So, brush up your knowledge ! Same for Xp standings and names of NPCs... and follow the story line =)
- Know how the phases are run: combats are by turns, role play in live action.
- Tell me if something is not clear enough and what I can improve to put you more "in game".
- Too much out of game situations and bad behaviour in game (or really stupid actions: if you have a good intelligence don't do stupid things) will lead to negative Xp.

Level 5 is also when things get tougher, harder and more serious for the players. So a little bit of preparation from your side is also needed: background story, bestiary learning etc... Know the differences between basic enemies : giaks, drakkarim, liganim, nadziranim, raccoons, cener druids and many more! Basically you get more into it =) To understand it all in an efficient way, I would say that the best strategy is to read the Lone Wolf books. After that you'll be able to recognize most of the Magnamund and its inhabitants, so take a leap in!

Questions? Remarks? Please do!

  1. I've had an idea... no need to run off as it does not include highly unstable explosives.

It's concerning the next session in Jena. your ETA seems just great to me as it would be around the time when I start stopping to prepare the food (savvy ?)

Anyway, my question is the following: do we want to eat and then have a longer playing session until.. let's say 16:00 / 17:00 ? thus enabling us to move forward a lot in the campaign, and probably test a lot our new awesome lvl 5 skills while I'll hope to be able to do some ingame crafting

Or we could do the following: eat, check the new rulebooks, move on to the planetarium at around 13:30 - there's a show starting at 14:00 - come back to the "Gus' Forsaken Inn" around 15:something and then do a "blanco session"(or just go on with the regular campaign but with a shorter session) while checking and discussing the new rules and having a deeper look within the game mechanics ?

  2. As GM second option seems nice as I am sure nobody will have time to take a look at the book except me =P

Still in the dwarves abilities; but as always I'll let you choose. You are 5 players, a great number for decision!

  3. Dear Smartmouth GM,

we are not at the beach and thus have difficulties finding time for ourselves but it doesn't mean we are not doing our homework ! I can honestly say that I'm reading the book, slowly yes, but still, I'm reading it.

as for the choice, I'm for option two. Plus we could add figurine painting as an activity while discussing :)

  5. Sorry for my late response....let's just say I'm busy because we're moving out and rubbing my girlfriends belly ("Luke, I'm your father").

Anyway: Option 2 is the best idea I think. Especially since I'm not blessed speaking the southern language, hence not having a new rulebook so I will probably need your help anyway to see my new cool moves.

Regarding the session. Melle starts working at 11:00 so I will bring her to work and drive to Jena immediately afterwards. This means I will arrive a bit later.
In any case I'll be there.

I also think that option 2 is better. Then we can practice a bit and make fun without being punished immediately. ("you are not allowed to do something that would make Darth Vader cry", hehe).
And we can enjoy some more of Jena in the summer without being fried at Gus' apartment.
I guess we would wish to have that hole in the bathroom again.
